Trainee Solicitor - 1 position IMMEDIATELY AVAIALABLE

We are seeking to start a new fee earner IMMEDIATELY.

We consider all applications for a Training Contract as they are presented.

Please be aware that we receive over 100 applications per week! If we are interested in you, we will make contact. Otherwise, we thank you for your application, but are unfortunately unable to respond individually.

Over the years we have developed a simple screening system - however it is always subject to discretion.

We look for the following (though these are not absolute requirements):

An Upper Second Class degree, in ANY subject.
Experience, whether academic or practical in our THREE MAIN FIELDS -
Personal Injury, Employment and Family.
Close links to the local Manchester community - preferably living within 30 minutes commuting time to the Office.

We have two Training Contracts and fill positions as and when we find suitable candidates.

Generally, we prefer our TS candidates to have taken advantage of our Work Placement positions.

Essentially, we seek FUTURE PARTNERS, not just Trainee Solicitors.

We do take on exceptional applicants as Para Legals as and when they come to our attention.

To be considered you must be prepared to work UNPAID in a working interview. Please send your CV to Adrian Berkeley.

UNPAID Full or Part Time Work Placements

These positions are available to Law Students upon request and as available. This is a great way of gaining valuable experience in a High Street Practice. It can make significant changes or confirmations for your chosen career.

Para-Legal

Successful Para-Legals will progress on to an eventual Training Contract. In the mean time you will receive an exiting, professional introduction to High Street law which can assist in shortening any future TS position.

Please be aware that this position is a full fee earning position where hard work is required to become an essential member of our Legal Team.

File Handler

We currently have no openings for this position.

This position will suit unqualified applicants. You will get the chance to work with all our Legal team in administration. If you are able, you can take on more roles as available, such as taking witness statements, speaking to clients and carrying out initial vetting, obtaining medical records and arranging medical appointments, paying disbursements and closing files etc. The position can grow according to your ability. Eventually you could have your own case load and Berkeley Solicitors will sponsor you to train you up professionally.
